Thanksgiving Traditions!

Thanksgiving Traditions! I was at the store the other evening and people were purchasing their turkeys and other goodies for Thanksgiving. At Southlake Village we were talking about what to have on the menu for the Thanksgiving dinner and everyone had a different idea, depending on what part of the country they were from. Do you have oyster dressing or mac & cheese? How about corn bread or is it rolls? At my house we have chestnuts and country ham. Everyone has their own traditions, which makes it special. I enjoy talking to the residents to hear about what their traditions are and I am always pleased to hear that most of their children have continued the traditions in their homes. I’ve gotten some good ideas from my residents over the years. Some people travel, others cut down their Christmas tree, take it home and start decorating. There are those who eat too much, then take a nap and get up at midnight to hit the sales on Black Friday. Others do nothing, but watch football all day. Most all of us can say we enjoy being with family and friends. So, whatever your traditions are, I hope each of you have a great Thanksgiving. If you’re out and about stop by Southlake and see what fun things we’ll be doing. Keren
